We have entered a world in the cosmetic industry where a primer and foundation go hand in hand. I can’t even begin to think of a flawless, smooth, perfect all-day finish application without the usage of a primer.
Through my personal experiences as an artist I have encountered so many of fellow ladies, who still have no idea what a primer is and what exactly is it’s function. With such a great market for it and every beauty line having a primer, it’s overwhelming…which one do you choose?
First let me explain what the actual function of a primer is:
It creates a smooth surface, ready for makeup, it fills in your pores, lines and depending on the brand can even color correct. To narrow down your search a primer with multi-skin care benefits is ideal, we live in a world where functionality is best.
My favorite doubles as a Beauty Balm, it’s Stila’s StayAll Day 10-n-1. It contains 10 different skin care benefits, which include: improving skin texture, reducing redness, spf 30 for UVA and UVB protection, closing pores, oil control, nourishers and hydrators, all while being oil free and paraben free. Leaving a smooth flawless finish that is ideal on and off camera.
My second favorite is Hourglass No 28 Primer Serum. It is silicone free and is a dual-purpose oil blend serum that treats and prepares for makeup. It will conceal redness, minimizes pores and repels water.
Stila Beauty Balms $38.00
Hourglass No 28 Primer Serum $65.00
